The Goddess Has Many Faces
There is an energy that flows through us ... that is us! It has been given many names -- God, Goddess, the Divine, the Life Force, to name a few. In the places in our being where we palpably Know and Experience this flow freely, we claim our Divinity, embody it, and enact it: We Are It! We are consciously it! This I call the Higher or Deepest Self.*
In the places in our Being -- mind, body, emotions, energy, soul substance -- where we have wounds to heal that we have defended by hardening, and consequently distorting that free flowing energy ... we forget our own Divinity and that of others, while longing to heal the wounds, yearning to come back Home. This I call the Lower Self -- the part of us that unconsciously (and sometimes consciously) strikes out with destruction and negative intent.
Originally this aspect of our Being developed in an attempt to defend us against the pain held in our unhealed wounds. At some point, however, the lower self energy split off from its original intent and took on a life of its own.
We must meet, own, stand in our own ground in the face of our Lower Selves, and yes! At the same time, love these distorted aspects of ourselves. They are merely unconscious Life Energy, twisted and disguised so that we come to forget who they really are at core. Only by reclaiming these aspects of ourselves can we heal their wounds, transform their energy, allow ourselves to re-open to the glory of who we are at essence, and fully claim our Deepest Selves, in all our Divinity.
"The Goddess Has Many Faces" is intended to invite and assist you, to accomplish this awe-filled task of love and truth. Judith enlivens, energizes, embodies each Goddess to free her life energy and make it available. She lives in her cells the experience of the Higher Self-aspect of each energy and the lower self-distortion of each energy. She helps you discover the lower self-aspect of energies you have only known as Higher Self, thus enabling you to stand more firmly in the Higher Self essence you have already known. And she also helps you discover the Higher Self aspect of energies you have believed to be only lower self, thus calling you to heal the distortion so you can stand in, root yourself in this wonderful essence that newly reveals itself to you.
*Some may feel a discomfort with the words Higher and Lower Self. I have, on an ongoing basis, questioned, explored, and played with the words. Consistently I come back to the Knowing that these words are a reflection of the duality within ourselves we are in the process of healing. Please allow yourself to drop through the nomenclature to the essence of what I am saying, at heart.
